How a made good is priced
Materials are the catalogue's own fair prices, at the cheapest trade that carries each item, times how many go in. Time is days of work at 3.75 s.p. a day, the labourer's wage the model records as labour_day_cp. The margin is stated the way the model states commercial_net_margin — as a share of the price rather than a markup on the cost — so at 25% the materials and the time are three-quarters of the fair price.
That fair price then behaves like any catalogue price. Each shop marks it up by its keeper's honesty, the shop's quality, the street's quality and its crime rate, and allows the haggle room that keeper's nature allows, exactly as fn_shop_prices does for a catalogue item. Citywide shortages and surpluses reach it by name and by goods class like anything else.
Nothing here is written to the shared catalogue: the recipe, its price and the trade it hangs on live in this browser. Clearing the list puts every shop back to stocking the catalogue alone.
